America’s most hated football team didn’t win any brownie points last Sunday when they miraculously beat the Atlanta Falcons after only having 3 points in the 3 Qtr. But these 5 New England Patriots players maybe getting some points from all who hate Donald Trump. As of today, there are approximately 6 players who will not be attending the White House this year.
Tight end Martellus Bennett was the first to back out. After Sunday’s win he told reporters that he’s “not going to go. People know how I feel about it. Just follow me on Twitter.”
Defensive back Devin McCourty, who sat in the silent protest of the National Anthem, states: ” “Basic reason for me is I don’t feel accepted in the White House. With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices, I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won’t.”
Running back LeGarrette Blount echoed Devin’s sentiment: “”I don’t feel welcome in that house. I’ll leave it at that.”
Defensive tackle Alan Branch, “I’ve got four kids at home so I’m just going to hang out with the family and continue celebrating until the next season starts,”
Linebacker Dont’a Hightower has a less political reason, “been there, done that.”
