“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” Oscar Wilde
Who are YOU?
What are YOU thinking right now?
What are YOU the most passionate about?
Oscar Wilde’s quote speaks the present reality of many. Formulating an independent thought is foreign because you have been indoctrinated by the life choices and opinions of others. Thinking let alone thinking outside of the box is not something that your mind can fathom. Your life is a mere theatrical production that satisfies the expectations and projections of others. You wear a mask that disguises your face covering your mind and eliminating independent thought. Sticking to the script is the main objective; there is no room for deviation. You must stick to the prompts, marks, words, and emotions of the playwright. Your character development was written by the hands of the playwright. The playwright writes according to his reality or perception of how life should be. Your life is not your own. You are a mere actor. Living life according to another persons script.
Ready to live life on your terms?
Tired of acting and fronting?
Tired of the stress and anxiety that comes along with walking in someone else’s shoes?
Tired of being the great pretender?
Recall the child that daydreamed and imagined.
Where were you going to go?
What were you going to do?
Who were you going to be?
I know you remember those early dreams and visions. You know before the dream-smashers and earth disturbers said you couldn’t. Before she said you can’t make money doing that. Before he . Hell before he said I like you better when you do this. Before the experiences of life’s highs and lows jaded your once creative mind.
“When I discover who I am, I’ll be free.” Ralph Ellison, Invisible Man
One of my favorite books is Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison and the above quote is my favorite from his book. When you discover your I Am. When you discover your purpose. When you find your truth. When you walk your path. When you utilize your gifts. When you come out of the shadows of others. When you release yourself from the expectations of others. When you embrace your truth. When you transition from cookie cutter manuscript to your divine signature. Then you will be free. Free to be that man or woman God created you to be.
Take back your truth. Own It!
